VM Fusion bugged out

I installed a new virtual machine for WinXP...all went well until I tried to take a snapshot. I got an error message saying something about a bad path, and that I should quit the app. I had to force it to quit, and as a result it is gone...no virtual machine to reboot, just have to start all over again, after an hour of installing and updating....anyone else have this happen, and if so, what was your solution??
