After about 22 hours of trying to move my Dell XP Pro's Windows installation to a VM Fusion (4.1.1) virtual machine (via migrate option), the migration process crashed at about 96% with the error:
"Cannot configure virtual machine", or words to that effect.
The link shown for "help" on the windows machine VM migration client takes you to a VM Ware KB page where that error isn't even listed.
Since this is a Dell with an OEM version of Windows, could that be the issue?
I seem to recall a warning from VM Fusion that it might have problems with OEM versions. However, I had successfully created a VM Fusion install from an old Toshiba laptop, which I assume also had an OEM version of windows xp.
Look forward to any suggestions....want to drop kick this Dell ASAP!
Have tried several times with different versions of VM Fusion, but cannot migrate this machine!
Thanks,
- m
