Hey guys, I installed vmware 3.0 and told it to run my boot camp partition with windows 7 64bit. It ran it fine, everything is great, except Windows 7 says I have three days left to activate and also my LabView wont work cause of the change in hardware, but that's a different story.
I did a google and found some tips on the vmware site saying Windows needs to be activated twice, once in boot camp and once in the virtual machine. I tried to activate it over the net in the virtual machine, it wouldn't work. There was an option to re-enter my serial, tried that, didn't work. Finally it told me to call the activation hotline, did that, entered all the ID numbers but the automated lady says I've activated it more than once and wouldn't give me the numbers I needed!
Is my only remaining option to speak to a microsoft representative on the phone? and tell them I'm trying to run windows on a mac? Is there a way to fool the automated lady to give me those activation numbers? 'Cause after I entered the ID over the phone it asked me a series of questions about whether I was installing Windows again or on a new computer etc. etc. I answered telling it that it was on the same computer with changed hardware but the lady gave me a talk about licensing issues. What should I do?
