Vmware Cd Trouble

Hi,
I am having troubles installing windows xp professional with the vmware soft.
Everything goes fine until the moment it asks for the cd for installation. When I put the cd on the air drive nothing happens keeps asking the cd. I tried to ask to install the op. system later, but when i start the virtual machine a message comes saying it is not able to connect to the ide 1:0 device.
Can you plz give me a help on that?
