I have a fresh MBP, and installed VMWare Fusion 3.0, and updated it to the latest 3.1.

I installed it with no problems, and installed Windows Vista with no problems. After I upgraded to Windows 7, though, things really fell apart. As I tried to install VMWare Tools, I got this error message:

error 1606.could not access network location \\vmware-host\Shared Folders\Documents

I googled it, but couldn't find a very clear answer on how to solve the problem. I poked around with it for a while, trying various things, but could not get anything to work, and in fact I only made it worse. I ended up deleting the virtual machine to try again later, as the blue screen of death I ended up with didn't portend very well.

I just started using my Mac a few days ago, so I am very unfamiliar with just about everything I am doing here, so please try to explain things as if I am a little child ;)
