I just installed a boot camp partition and vmware. as i understand it vmware will see the boot camp partition and open it up from that. but i don't know how to configure that. can anyone help. im in the new virtual machine assitant window

Did you install windows on your boot camp partition?
It just appeared in mine when i first loaded VMware Fusion. Perhaps restart fusion and hopefully it will pick up the boot camp partition.
