All,
Apologies if this is already answered and appreciate if someone can point me to the post. did not see anything specific to what I wanted and hence posting. Here goes:
I have a MBA with 128 GB SSD. I have a 85 + 29 GB partition for MAC and Windows using boot camp. I use vmware fusion to run the boot camp as a virtual machine with mac os as the host OS. Now comes the interesting (to me at least) part. I wanted to move the boot camp to an external HDD as a virtual machine. When I try doing it, (onto a 320 GB HDD which has about 65 GB free), I could never get it going with PC migration assistant from VMware fusion. Then I read a post which said there is a problem with vmware fusion and OSX 10.7.2. It suggested to use the VMware standalone converter. OK, so I uninstalled the migration assistant and installed the standalone converter. When I give the job, it goes thru all the way till 98% and bails out citing could not reconfigure. The external HDD I am using is formatted as FAT32 fs.
Any help on what I am doing wrong would be greatly appreciated as well as hints if any to get this working.
TIA,
prao
