Hello. I have a 2023 MBP running Sequoia, and want to set up a Fusion VM also running Sequoia. According to the VMware site, this should be possible. Plus, I have read numerous articles which give you instructions for setting this up. Unfortunately, none of them work for me. I have also read stories that say it isn't possible to do this. Now I don't know what to believe. Some examples show dragging and dropping the macOS Sequoia Install app onto the window. I did this as well as using an ISO file but both failed.

I installed the latest (now free) Fusion and when I run it, I get the following window:

I don't understand why I am not getting more options. Can anyone please help? Thank you.

The second screen only applies to Intel Macs. I don't think you can install macOS VMs in Apple Silicon Macs.
You can use VMTek, available at the App Store, it's not free though.
 
The other thread on this topic suggests two free products, Viable and VirtualBuddy. Either one should do the job.
