I have just updated my VMware Fusion. I also copied my old Macbook HD to a new MacBook Pro HD. There was a problem opening the Windows XP on the new MacBook Pro so I updated the VMware Fusion and also installed a new virtual Windows XP. But after I updated the VMware Fusion the old Windows XP opened fine. But I decided to also update the Windows XP and when I started the update, I get an error screen as below:
C:\WINDOWS|system32\setupORG.exe - FILE NOT Found!
followed by more text and ending with
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SETUP ABORT
OK
When I click on OK it returns to the VMware screen then cycles back to the Windows XP screen and then goes to setup again and returns the same page.
Does anyone know how I can escape from the setup process and return to the original Windows XP or is it damaged beyond repair now. I am mostly concerned about finding my data and other applications that are tied to the original Windows and are not accessible from the new virtual Windows XP that I set up.
