Hi there,
I use an application (Camfrog) in Windows on my Macbook using VMWare Fusion (2.0.2).
Camfrog works better for me under Windows. I use a Microsoft Webcam and while it works under OSX using hacked drivers, the OSX drivers don't allow me to enable the low light settings, where as running it through VMWare Fusion on Windows does.
The camera works however in Camfrog there is a setting called "Use old rendering system". It appears that with this enabled the camera use some shoddy way of working the camera - thus the quality is pretty naff.
I soon realised that DirectX was the culprit. So I went to enable it on the VM - but it tells me that my Macbook doesn't support it and it might make the VM crash. Sure enough it did. With Accelerated graphics enabled, the computer booted but when I used the webcam, it was very slow at updating the image and then eventually blue screened and rebooted.
Is there anyway around this? I would really like to have DirectX enabled.
Many thanks
