This summer, I lost important data from iCloud and since my Watch is always in flight mode (I turn off flight mode to manually sync it basically, also saves battery life btw), I managed to partially preserve the data on my Watch.
I was abroad for a month and a half and I was in the middle of nowhere, didn't have my computer with me, and since I wanted to preserve my data and was scared it would be lost if my Watch connected with the internet or my iPhone, I ended up never turning off the Watches flight mode and basically never synced it with my iPhone.
This led to the fact that I see no VO2 max measurements for that time period. How come? Does the Watch need the iPhone to measure that? It's annoying because I was doing a lot of sports during that time. But it displays no measurement at all.
Any chance to get the data back? Maybe it was lost somewhere?
