VOB files conversion

Need to convert vob files to go into iMovie. Tried with the VLC software and the video was jerky. Looked online, saw iskysoft, but then saw some reviews against it. Have mac with 10.9.3 and imovie 10.0.3.
Should I use something different than iMovie? maybe a movie maker with converter in it?
Just making some movies for the school football highlights now and last year's highlights were vob files.

MPEGStreamclip is what you need.

Open the VOB file, then export as a Quicktime file.

I saw that mentioned in another post and tried it. App Store said it was not available in the US

Thanks - downloaded, but when I opened it after the warning, it did not run - no menu toolbar. Looked it up on you tube and what I downloaded was not as complete - so went in the trash.

any other programs?
