Vodafone Sim in US iPhone?

Hi. I'm looking into getting a jailbroken iPhone 3G in the US, but am moving to the UK in two months. So, will I be able to get a Vodafone sim card in the UK and use it with my US iPhone? Will there be any problems or features I won't be able to use?

Thanks in advance for anyone who helps and sorry if someone has already posted about this.
