Voice Control Issues

I have used different aftermarket ear buds over the past few years on my iphone 4 with zero problems.
Now lately when I use my aftermarket buds the voice control keeps coming on and killing my ipod. At times the music goes fast forward.

This doesn't seem to be a problem when I use my oem buds, however they won't stay in my ears. Unless Apple comes up with a better bud, I must use aftermarket buds.

Anyone else having this problem, and is it just a software glitch?
