I need some software (free if can) that can help me control my mac, open apps for me, stuff like that. nothing with writing.

does anyone know any?

what version of OS X are you running? have you tried the built-in voice control features of OS X? these allow you to open applications, get your mail, tell you the time, or even a joke, all by voice alone. i'm not at my mac right now, but if you're running leopard, go to system preferences and open the speech preferences pane, and select the text-to-speech tab - i think that's where you'll find the controls and list of commands, iirc...

I'm using that crappy leopard 10.5.3 (really, it's crappy)
and i can configure the speech as i want, add programs, open etc. just what he gave me...

Edit:
I CAN'T configure
