Hey guys! Thanks in advance for the help. I hope we have some LTE experts here... Here's my issue:
I purchased my iPhone 6 from AT&T back in September. I was amazed at the VoLTE feature and it was working great. Stupid me... I dropped my phone in the pool and it suffered severe water damage. I purchased a replacement from Apple and I thought everything was working great. Now, I come to find out my VoLTE is not working correctly anymore (not sure it ever working since the swap).
Background on the phone: It's on iOS 9.0.2. Settings > Cellular > Enable LTE > Voice & Data (enabled). According to the notification at the top left of the task bar on the phone, LTE works only for data. As soon as I make a phone call, it switches to 4G. I've reset the network settings several times, as well as performed hard reboots to no avail.
After doing several hours of research, I can't seem to find anyone with my exact problem. I spoke with AT&T support last night in which we did some troubleshooting. The one thing they immediately noticed was that the IMEI number was not correct (possibly old phone). Once they changed it to the new one, we still had the same issue. He "re-provisioned" the SIM several times, also did not work. After trying several "network resets", etc, he finished by telling me that I should update to the newest firmware (9.2) and give it a try. After explaining to him (as crypticly as I could), that I did not want to update, and that it was working fine before I swapped phones, he recommended I get a new SIM and see if that works.
So that brings me to today. I visited an AT&T Authorized Store and swapped the SIM - Same problem - Switches to 4G when making a call. The rep was very nice and made some minor changes to my account, having to do with the Mobile Value Share Plan and LTE. No difference. The last thing he tried was putting my SIM in his iPhone 6. It replicated the same issue on his phone, which I feel incredibly bad about (seemed like he was in a panic trying to get his VoLTE to work again :/)
This leads me to believe it's an AT&T issue, possibly stemming from the iPhone swap. On a side note, my wife's phone who is also on the account is working as it should.
Any help would be appreciated!
