Since Facetime needs Wi-Fi to operate then it seems that in some sense the call is going over the internet rather than the cellular network.

Does this mean that if a cellular signal is not available a call can go over Wi=Fi, with the usual deduction of plan minutes? T-Mobile can do this (called UMA) and I just wonder if AT&T can do it also. This would seem to make sense since it would relieve a lot of congestion over AT&T's cellular network.

Thanks,
