VOIP only iPhone

I have a 4S and am looking to get a iPad Data plan for it here in canada.

Im looking for a VOIP Service to port my current # to and be able to call/txt and use voicemail from that.

Anyone have any expierence with this? Being in Canada makes this a little harder

I use a google voice account with gv connect and talkatone. Don't know about Canadian restrictions but you can also use Skype but it will cost u a monthly fee. Maybe magic jack or vonage?
