basically, i am looking to make calls from my mbp to europe for free

Skype offers free P2P calls for OS X. Skype-Out (non peer to peer) has low cost rates, but there is a cost.

yeah, skype is pretty good. their rates are great, but not completely free. i am looking to call a landline in europe from my computer in the us, and justvoip allows you to do that for free, unless you are calling a mobile phone..
