Voltage issues with older macs

Not sure where to post this question. I'm thinking of buying a vintage (1980's) Mac from a foreign country. Can they handle different voltages, or are the power units specific to each country? I'm thinking of buying an old mac in Australia, and taking it to japan, and then maybe UK.
