I have an old 3gs which works fine, but the volume rocker button fell off and is lost. They are sold online quite cheap. But even on Ifixit.com, they don't show how to replace this button.

Does it just get glued back on? Is it part of a larger component on the inside of the device?

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with doing this type of repair. I can send it in to one of the many 3rd party repair companies, but if all they will do is use crazy glue, then I can do that myself.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

I looked under parts and it's not there. Link?

An update: I had the volume button on the iphone replaced at a local iphone repair shop. They basically replaced only the button, and used adhesive to reinstall the part. The entire process only took 10 minutes and the iphone is now as good as new. And the best part? It cost only $10!
