Are developers able to incorporate volume buttons into apps? Now that would be great! Take a first person shooter for example: you could use 2 virtual joysticks for the axis's and the Volume up button for gunfire. Maybe even the volume down button for grenades. And that is only one of many,many possible examples.
 
I think the idea is good, but I don't think the volume buttons were designed for that much abuse. I can see them breaking or wearing out quickly if people are mashing on them all day. I'd still love to try a shooter like that though.

Developers are not able to do that (other than the volume-up for a camera shutter).
 
Would you then have the developers use some sort of on screen in options menu for volume control? I'm not a big fan of that. I'd rather let the volume buttons be volume buttons. If you want LB/LT and RB/RT buttons get a playstation or xbox
