I recently bought myself a brand new blue 5th Gen iPod Touch for my trip to Florida. However, every time I skip a song, the volume increases to full automatically.
I have the volume restricted anyway due to personal preferences with my headphones, but this is such a pain.

Is there a solution besides sending it back? I've already put a screen protector on it (went through 4 before one stuck without dust underneath).

This sounds like a software issue. Using iTunes, I would first backup the device, DFU restore, then restore from backup. If that doesn't fix the problem, I would DFU restore and then set it up as new.

Thank you so much! This appears to have worked. It was driving me crazy!

Edit:

Seems too good to be true. It appears if my volume is at the higher end of the slider, it automatically puts my volume up for me. Any idea why it might do that? :/
