Volume control for generic 3.5 mm earbuds ?

I would like to be able to adjust volume from the computer with a knob that I can slide up & down, doesn't have to be for mac products. Im actually thinking of windows pc.

Is there a good, inexpensive earbud that can do that? If not, is there a good attatchment that I can plug my earbuds into and plug the remaining device into the comp?
