I have got a Yamaha Cavit AP-U70 external soundcard/DSP/amplifier that is driving my speakers.
It has both USB and optical inputs (in addition to the good old analog one), and is a pretty nice amp.
Unfortunately, there is no volume control for it when it is connected to my MacBook Pro via USB! It is correctly recongnized as a USB sound device, but the system volume is cranked up to maximum, and there is no way to adjust it.
Yamaha themselves no longer support this amp (pity, it is quite nice!) - there are OS 9 drivers deep in their web site, and that is all.
Does anyone know of an alternative USB sound driver for Mac OS X?
Any utilities, maybe, that would overcome this problem?
