I would really like to have a toolbar add-on that would let me control the volume levels of different applications. Essentially a more fine grained version of the system level volume control. Does anyone know if this exists?
The problem I'd like to solve is that I hate it when webpages start making noise while playing video and I'd like to be able to just mute safari since using the volume controls in flash players is always awkward and hard to use. I'm usually listening to music while surfing the net so muting everything isn't an option. Also, if I'm listening to music while playing a video game this would be a good way to resolve balancing the different sound levels.
Something accessible from the toolbar with an interface like the activity monitor would be perfect. I am thinking about making one, but I'd hate to make it and then find out someone already did it better.
Thanks for any insight you can provide.
