Since ios 14, volume level would go up on its own, every time a phone made any sound for any reason; alarm, notifications, text, phone call, etc.
I have spoken to apple SCR, they have suggested resetting my iPhone. I've reset my iPhone several times and today I performed a full wipe and set it up as new using DFU. The volume issue was not resolved.
I've read several posts on the Apple forum with various suggestions. Unfortunately, none of the suggestions resolved the issue.
So if you have been dealing with the same issue, I have found a permanent solution until Apple fixes the bug. I have tested my iPhone throughout the day and I have solved the problem.
Go to settings, Sounds, scroll down to the bottom, and enable "Lock Sound" option. Scroll back up and manually set "Ringer Alerts" volume bar to a minimum. The volume bar will increase by 25% on its own, but it won't go up any higher in the settings. It's the bug in ios 14.
From now on, the volume will no longer go past 25% on its own, unless you manually set the volume with volume buttons past 25%.
Hope that helps some of you.
Cheers.
