Volume icon pops out of nowhere

The volume icon pops up for no reason when I open a chat on snapchat. It happens when I have the volume to 0% and 100%. As for the 0% the volume icon pops up showing 1bar but when i check the volume on the control center its 0% the for the 100% the volume icon pops up showing 1 bar less from being full but when I check the volume its on 100%
