iPod touch volume low

I recently restored a frozen white screen and now my volume is low. To hear I have to max the volume. Any ideas?

Have you checked what the volume limit is set to? Go into settings -> general -> volume limit, and see what it's set to.

yep that is maxed. Now the only thing different is my cat ate my headphones that came with my touch. Now if I use the new headphones with another device they are fine. I am wondering could it be a compatibility issue or something?

I would restore again, unfortunately that's the only way, but it's like a hit and miss thing.

just tried that and still the same result. should I call apple?

ok a buddy has an ipod and I tested his headphones and the volume is normal. It looks like a headset compatibly issue.
