I just received a couple of these:

I know, I know, they are cheap junk, but I've always wanted a black dock and other than this one issue they work perfectly. Anyhow the issue I'm getting is when plugged into the dock I get a "Volume not available" message if I try to use any app that has sound with it, like the ipod app or watching a movie for example. I've also tried plugging in the stock iphone cable into the black dock and still same message so I know it's specifically something with the aftermarket dock.
Just curious if this is something common to non Apple docks and if there is any hack to fix it. If not does anyone know of a course for black docks which work correctly?
edit: this happens with my 32gb 4s and also with my wifes 16gb 4.
