When I adjust my volume controls on my keyboard, F10 thru F12, to listen to audio out loud, I get this picture (attached). However, if I am listening to headphones, the volume still works.
I tried shutting down and restarting, and I've been thru my preferences. The drop down volume control on the top right of the screen is set to as loud as it can go.

Thanks for any help,
Sleepitoff.

Thanks for your reply - what does this mean? There is a red light coming from within the earphone port...

This is a known issue with MacBooks. A search of these forums will provide a more indepth explanation, but the gist of it is that there's a switch within the port that's stuck. Unstick it with a headphone jack or something similar.
