iPod touch volume problem

hey there guys..

i have recently bought a used i pod touch. when listening to music to recently, the volume became very low and i cant seem get the volume any louder.
while listening to music on youtube or the internet, the volume is loud and normal,
any help please.

also how do you delete apps because its a used ipod and there alot of useless apps that i dont want on there
