OK, please be gentle. What I don't know about VPNs is a lot.
My system administrator at work is trying to set up a VPN for us, and this is good. It's an all-Windows shop, which is less good. When I told the system administrator that I'd most often be connecting to the VPN from my PowerBook at home, he wanted to know if the Mac OS X VPN client supports the MS-CHAP authentication protocol.
This article seems to indicate that the VPN client in Mac OS X v10.2 did support CHAP, but none of the articles discussing VPN under Mac OS X v10.3 (such as this one) mention that authentication protocol. Can anyone say whether the 10.3 VPN client supports that flavor of authentication? If not, what options (if any) do I have?
