Is there a way to get various VPN and RDP shortcuts into the dock? I've tried dragging RDP settings files into the dock and it's not working. I have no idea where to start with VPN's, which in any case don't seem to work for me half the time (although I'm sure it's because something's either not supported or I'm doing something wrong).

For RDP setting files, drag and drop them to the right side of the dock. There is a little border that separates programs on the left, and then files on the right. You should be able to double click the file in the right hand side of the dock and have it come right up into the Remote Desktop for that particular computer. Not sure how you VPN, but I don't believe Cisco's VPN can directly launch a certain connection, only open the program and double click the connection you want. But if you are using something else that has a settings saved to a file that you just double click on, again, like RDP, put it in the right side of the dock.
