Hey,

I've installed Lion on my MacBook Pro, however, I can't seem to download anything using Vuze. It'll add the .torrent onto Vuze, however it won't download, it continuously says ETA 0:00.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Thanks,

Johnny

It won't even allow me to open Vuze, iTunes or a few other apps.

Happening on the GM

I was wondering if it was just me. Since I installed the Lion GM I've had problems with Vuze. Most torrent files simply do not download, a few started but have stopped and not resumed. I'm up to date with Vuze as far I know. Any suggestions? Maybe Vuze has a developer build.

Same issue here, I'm using Transmission is its place and actually may continue to do so. Vuze seems to take up a considerable amount of resources when active; unless you are using all the embedded features of Vuze now may be a good time to switch.

Any one had any luck getting this to work yet ?

reading that an update to Java might fix it

I dont want to have to use another app when i upgrade to Lion as I like the way this can download and then easily convert/add to iTunes

Lion is not roaring with VUZE

I have the same problem. Just downloaded Lion and can't get anything from VUZE. Tried the Java link but says not compatible with my OS.

I just downloaded the updated VUZE and it works better than ever...Open VUZE on your computer and click on HELP, then click on CHECK FOR UPDATES. Download and your back in the saddle.

Good luck

Vuze eats up a lot of System Resources. uTorrent is very lightweight as well as Transmission. I try to avoid Java-Based apps if I can.

Found the solution

Hi,

I found the solution on a Vuze forum. All kudos to voodoodaddy.

I just upgraded to Lion yesterday. Went to open Vuze, said I needed to download Java. Did all that, and like everyone else no incoming/outgoing traffic at all. So on doing a search I came across this fix and can confirm it works.

Change your jar file:

1) Go here http://dev.vuze.com/ Download the development build jar file at the top, its named Azureus4605-B13.jar

2) Once its downloaded rename it Azureus2.jar

3) Go into applications > vuze > right click and "show package contents"

4) Open the contents folder > resources > Java

5) Delete the Azureus2.jar file found there and replace with the one you just downloaded and renamed as the same

Make a backup of the original Azureus2.jar file just in case. I did before I deleted it just to be on the safe side.

Happy Vuze'ing

vuze & Lion

I'm using Lion and an older Vuze. Same problem, yet Folx and µTorrent work fine. I'm running Lion in 32 bit mode as my internet connection (USB 3G modem) requires it. The older Vuze version because Vuze got funny last fall I think, so I disabled auto update and went backwards. Frankly I'm tired of fighting Vuze.

Well it works fine for me

for me i can download with gr8 speeds just i had to instal Java manager before opening it

btw i have 4.7 of vuze

Vuze / Lion Incompatibility

I'm not too technical but this is what I found:

Since Lion upgrade, Vuze was advising me I had to perform an update. This update doesn't even allow Vuze to load (briefly flashing two different boxes which you don't have time to read nor select 'accept').

I uninstalled the 'new' version of Vuze (using CleanMyMac - if that is an important detail) and re-installed a prior version from Time Machine. The previous version works fine (except for the fact that I keep getting prompted to perform the upgrade - again).

The working version of Vuze that I am using is:

Vuze Version 4.6.0.5_B13 (96.3MB)

I also occasionally use uTorrent without any issue (& have also found Transmission works fine).

Hope this is of use. Of course, if someone could tell me how to stop the prompts from Vuze to update, that would be appreciated.

One app that I would not recommend, based on the number of complaints that have been posted in this forum and elsewhere, is CleanMyMac. As an example: CleanMyMac cleaned too much.

In most cases, app removal software doesn't do a thorough job of finding and removing files/folders related to deleted apps. For more information, read this.

The most effective method for complete app removal is manual deletion:
