Yesterday I had an online chat session with a Verizon rep. He said that I could go to a Verizon store, preorder an iPhone 6 64gb and then when it comes I could trade-in my 4S, then pay the difference using the $199 trade-in credit when the iPhone 6 comes in.

So I went to a Verizon store last night and rep there said I would have to pay for the new iPhone 6 64gb upfront, send in my 4S and then hopefully I would get the $199 trade-in credit at some point.

Does this all seem right? I would love to use the $199 trade-in credit when I pick up the iPhone 6. I was told the trade-in program ends on 9/30. Thx for the help!

what you were told on the cut sounds right. No idea why the store rep said you would have to send it in first. Every time I have traded in at a carrier the employee looks the phone over and does the credit on the spot.
