Turn the volume up!

No honestly... when you have speaker selected during a call turn up the volume using the volume buttons on the side of the iPhone... it turns the volume of the speaker up.

I have the volume maxed out

Speakerphone was never iPhone's best quality. It's been low since the original iPhone. There have been slight improvements in volume but when put up top other devices iPhone's is simply lower than the rest. I take it you're coming from another platform/device? It's just something you're going to have to get used to.

Dairyman,

Honestly I think the speaker volume on my Verizon iPhone is a little louder than my AT&T iPhone!

Possibly because the call quality and clarity is much better on Verizon.

Mine is quite loud. I've done a couple of calls that I switched to speakerphone and the loudness and clarity are a lot better than my old Android phone.

The spearker on the iphone is actually one of the worst speakers I've seen, and I don't like the location of it either. But I guess they had to choose that location cause it would ruin the style if the put it on the back.

I never thought that the having the speaker in the back was that greet of a idea. I much prefer the location on the iPhone than on my android devices. Ideal location for me would be on the front of the phone.

It's much louder and clearer than my android phone. You sure you're not keeping your hand over the speaker?
