W7 Laptop not connecting to iMac

Hello, I've been having a problem with my laptop that won't connect to my iMac network.

- I'm sharing my internet connection via wifi with a WEP password with it being 40-bit.

- On my laptop (XPS15, W7) when I try and connect to it, nothing happens, i just tries to connect, then it just says it can't connect. Trouble shooting, as always, never works.

What can I do?
