I have a Wacom Intuos Pro PTH-860 large graphics tablet with a pen. I am currently using it with my mac pro desktop 2012, running macOS High Sierra 10.13.6.
I installed the software drivers, with latest ones that go with my tablet.
The trouble is, I cannot reliably use the pen with it, it is jittery, and other times, there is lag. The pointer sometimes gets stuck, and does not follow where I point the pen, and other times, it flies around the screen, and I end up accidentally opening and closing things. I have ended up having to use an older Apple mouse which although feels clunky, it is much more stable and reliable. However, I miss the pen, it is much easier on my hand, and would be nice to use to draw with, and the whole reason I have the tablet.
The tablet is a wacom touch model, and I have tried fiddling with the pen settings, and turning off the touch feature. I have had to set the pen to use as a mouse, when I had it set to pen, it was even worse, and totally unusable.
I am kind of at my wits end, and I did look at the Apple magic trackpad, which just seems to work with just the hand, and not a pen.
I just find using a mouse and mousepad kind of clunky, and more straining for my wrist and hand, and it is not very good to draw with.
I use photoshop, ArtRage, and now I am taking an autoCAD class.
