I'm thinking about giving one of these a try, but have a question for I make the leap...

Seems that, unlike a MB/MBP trackpad, it doesn't offer a physical click. Therefore it more closely resembles the MB/MBP tap-to-drag.

What happens if your'e dragging from one end of your screen to the other, and run out of pad? Can you dive in with a second finger, or do you have to go back and start over?

I hope that makes sense.

Thanks.

Well ... my Pen & Touch spends most of it's time in a drawer in my desk, but I dug it out to answer your question

In the default setting, the "drag" stops if you lift your finger. There is a "drag lock" option on the System Preferences->Pen Tablet to "lock" you into "drag" mode. Once in this mode, you have to tap to drop the drag.

So be fair, I am a programmer by trade and the mouse is way faster for text manipulation.
