Wacom Suggestion

I'm currently in the market for one of Wacom's Intuos3 Tablets, I can't decide between the 6x11 widescreen model or the 9x12. I currently work on a 17" Macbook Pro. I'd like a tablet big enough to not feel restricted while doing graphic and design work but something that's also not so huge that makes it unnessary. I was going to get the 9x12 since it is bigger but was wondering if maybe the 6x11 would be better because of the widescreen format.

Any thoughts?
