I'm looking for a fast(er) MBP 13" boot/apps option. Is this Toshiba worth the wait as a low cost option or do you think it will cost more than a 64gb SSD? I realize the speeds are slower at 35Gb per sec. write / 60gb read but Im hoping it's more sustainable without long term erosion. A thought is that SSDs firmware is more mature at garbage collection vs. no such management in the SD card world. But if it's got a better cost/GB it may be a strong option.

Well if everything actually worked all fine and dandy then you would have to have a SD card sticking out of your laptop all the time.

That SD card is slower then my laptops hard drive which gets about 65MB/s for both reads and writes while the SD card is 60MB/s read and 35MB/s write. While it is flash memory so it won't have a seek time, I really doubt you will notice a difference if anything the HDD will probably still be faster.
Also idk if anyone knows if the MBPs will support SDXC or not.

Goos points. I wonder what the holdup is as there are no moving parts. Maybe there is no need for performance in the SD card market as consumers aren't asking for it, just more size.
