Called the closest Apple store near me (an hour away) and asked if I needed an appointment to do an in store pick up. They said no. Come anytime you want. Bought my 2nd 12pro on Apple's site for in store pickup and it had me pick a date and time. It's suppose to be tomorrow at 2pm which I can't go because I'm at work. I plan on going Saturday afternoon. Will I have to wait for a long period of time?

when I went to pickup my m1 air I waitied in the pickup line. There were about 8 people ahead of me. It took about 10-12 min.

No, in fact you don't actually have to go at the time slot you choose, you can pretty much go on Saturday and pick it up. I've done this multiple times where I just select the random time and I just go at anytime and never had issues with them allowing me to pick it up early or later. Of course if it's on a launch day that's different.
