Usually people only care about the release date of a macbook but some care about the purchase date.

I was thinking of getting a rMBP this week but thought maybe it would be better to wait 2 weeks until Jan.

What do you think? No difference?

You are delaying buying a computer now to make a random, annoying Craigslist buyer who will lowball you, happier in 3-4 years? Why?

If I were looking at your craigslist ad and saw that you were trying to imply, in any way, that a 2014 computer was a 2015 I'd find that shifty. I'd pay more for a deal where the owner was completely transparent providing model number and full disclosure of details on condition, etc.

And no, I wouldn't care much when you bought it, even if you were completely transparent about the model. Maybe if you were flipping these things yearly, it might mean something, but why not just state the month as well. Bought December 2014 says the same thing to me as January 2015.

Serial# = DEAL / no serial# = NO DEAL! Before I purchased my MP the seller revealed all info's I felt I needed to know! Best way to buy/sell? I think so...
