Waiting for iPhone 6

The new, full-size Apple iPad could even go by a different name-the iPad 'Maxi.' The 5, or Maxi, is rumored to have a 12.9-inch diagonal screen, improved clarity, 10 hours of battery life, a reduced battery size, a lightweight display, A7X processor and both front and rear cameras.

Oh god, please no. As if there weren't enough "maxipad" jokes when the iPad first released. I really doubt Apple would be dumb enough to call it the "iPad Maxi".
 
so here's what I think will happen in 2014. feel free to add/edit

iOS 8: the world's most advanced operating system

Iphone 6:
-15-20% bigger screen accomplished by redesigning home button and front camera area
- A7X - twice the GPU power of A7
- new display technology where the glass flexes based on touch
- 10 megapixel camera
- 2 gb ram
- thinner and all glass
 
And a better text input system than the current keyboard with one key at one touch. The ideal will be Swype input, but anything of equal or better speed would be make me change over from Android. For now I am buying an SGS4. I had hoped to buy an iPhone 5S. I can wait another year!

I think I'll be skipping the 5th gen altogether, and will be going from a 4S to a 6.

I know it's wayyyy too early to start talking about the 6, I don't want to rain on the 5S/5C parade, but I can't wait to see what it will look like. Redesigns excite me, and I'm getting off the "S" cycle.
 
I've been an Apple enthusiast for too long to predict anything. But my guess is that iPhone 6 will be a very substantial new phone designed to help Apple catch up to Android.

They've learned a lot from Google & Samsung, it shows in iOS 7.

I most certainly plan on buying iP6.

Why do you think that iPhone 6 will have an A7X chip?
It will almost certainly be A8. iPad 6 will have A8X
 
I'm looking forward to the retina iPad Mini and the iPhone 6. Skipping the 5S as my iPhone 5 is like a new toy w/ iOS 7.

My iP6 prediction is the same display size with less border equating to a smaller form factor without loosing display real estate.

You may be right.

Apple is awfully addicted to its small demure smartphone. Women love it, and the size allow Apple bragging right as one of the smallest smartphones made.

A flexing screen just sounds annoying. Bigger screen, finally step up in memory are the two big changes I'm expecting. Typical CPU and camera improvements. I also expect expanded Touch ID functionality.

Not all of us like swype so that is that.
 
I guess you are right. Existing users like yourself (who likely may not even have used Swype do not like the functionality). The Apple stock is now coming close to being priced like a utility company, because it is becoming a replacement phone for existing iPhone users rather than taking market share from Android phones. The stock is down in the last one year from $705 to $467 - a drop of 33% in value. The developed market is pretty much saturated. In the developing economies of China, India and Brazil, the iPhone market share is in single digits. In China Apple's share of the smart phone market is 5% close to Blackberry's market share in the US.

I own android devices ;) and still don't prefer swype...
 
The 6 will be cool. I hope its lighter and thinner than the 5. Frankly, the 5 is bugging me a little.
 
Wouldn't releasing it in the 1st QTR throw off people's upgrade dates? The only people that would be eligible for a free upgrade would be 4 & 4s owners (save the ones who buy it at full price).

Seems to me they'll just keep that Sept/Oct cycle.

Am I missing something?

have fun making profit off 5 shares of something.

I see the iphone as free. I got the 3gs for 100 bucks, then sold it for $250 use that to buy the 4s for 200 just sold it for 280 bought the 5s for 200.....

So free. No guarantee that the 6 will have a bigger screen.

I really hope so. I would love the same size phone but more screen. No bezel, no home button, and the camera and speaker either under the screen...or that film speaker...so there would be no speaker.
