In the Depths of the SLC!
I'm trying to Jailbreak my 2.02 Touch and it just isn't going too well! I am using a Mac and PwnageTool. I get through the whole process very easily using both advanced and intermediate settings. I do the whole button pressing and releasing session and my iPod gets in DFU mode.

I close PwnageTool as it recommends, and then start up iTunes. Then the ipod sits there black screen and all iTunes is saying is (Waiting for iPod). I disconnect to restart it because it's not starting up. I plug it in and my ipod main screen comes up and I click to restore and select the custom firmware. Everytime I do that it gives me Error (6).

What am I doing wrong? Is the ipod supposed to be black, how long does that part of the process take? Does me disconnecting the ipod and restarting it take it out of DFU mode and that is why iTunes throws me Error (6)?

Jailbreaking my old ipod Touch last year wasn't this hard, even using all SSH!

EDIT -

Ok, so I did the whole process again and waited the "Waiting for Ipod" screen in iTunes. After about five minutes, it brings up a new window saying it is having trouble and throws the "1601" error at me. It suggests reinstalling iTunes. I'm downloading iTunes 7.7 again now. My iPod is still connected and the screen is still black/off. I'll see what happens after I install itunes again.
