I’m hoping that at least reviewers get it early because I have two big presale questions.

1) Portrait/Reading Mode. It doesnt fold back so I need to know real world opinions of constantly detaching just to use an iPad like an iPad.

2) Hinge. The friction and stability of that hinge is a big deal. Will it bounce when you use it on your lap? Will it move when touching it or using it as an easel while making precision pencil movement?

Overall I can imagine many scenarios where I’d love this IPad dock. But I can imagine many more where it could possibly be really annoying.

I too am looking for more info about it. All of articles I’ve seen about it so far have been written by people who have seen the photos and small blurb put out by Apple. None of them, not even Apple themselves, have come anywhere close to answering the questions I have.

What is it made out of—aluminum, or plastic, what colors is it available in. The hinge looks rather flimsy, how rugged is it? Show more photos of it—some from above with it closed.

I’ve never seen Apple put out a piece of kit like this with so little info about it. It makes inquiring minds wonder.

Probably because they haven‘t put it out yet. I‘m sure closer to release we‘ll get more information, hands-ons and reviews.

Exactly my stance. The new iPad Pro is a done deal for me, as long as I also have the Magic Keyboard. Until then, my 2017 10.5” iPP will have to do.

I‘ve sold my MBP so have picked up an Apple folio Keyboard to use at my desk with an external mouse, but this setup isn’t great if I want to work from the sofa!

Like others have said, there’s quite a few questions I’ll be interested to see the answers-to when people get hold of review items.

I know its available in May, but when do people think we’ll get a chance to pre-order these?

I have got the new iPad but waiting for the new keyboard. No case at the moment so I’m being careful with it. I am really feeling the need for the keyboard though

I tried waiting, but after a week I bought a folio keyboard to tide me over for the next couple of months. The 12.9 is much more useful for me with a keyboard, and I don’t want to be tied to working at a desk or table at the moment, given that I’m going to be working at home for the forseeable future.

I tried waiting too, but I ordered the Folio keyboard to hold me over. I actually like holding the 12.9 by itself for basic browsing and watching videos but when it's time to get work done it's better with a keyboard on my desk.

I got my IPP 12.9 yesterday. Ordered this to tide me over. But it won't be here until 4/14

But I have a lot of questions about the Magic keyboard and the hinge and functionality and stability of it all.

Anybody else waiting for the magic keyboard to come out to order the new iPad? I don’t like having my device without a cover.
I couldn't wait. Good for you for being able to. I am now using the 2020 iPad Pro 12.9 inch as a second monitor for my 15 inch MBP and that's working perfect with SideCar.

I couldn’t wait so ordered a used magic keyboard and trackpas from Mercari. I can always sell them when the magic keyboard cover comes out. I really love using this with the trackpad/keyboard. Multitasking plus drafts and my productivity is way up.
