Now that the 2021 MBP has been announced, I thought I'd start this thread so people can start discussing their wants & needs in the next release of MBPs.

Hehe, 2 weeks into the new 14” and 16” 2021 M1 Pro and M1 Max releases and this thread has yet to be picked up?

Could this mean that finally, we had a release that matched everyone's expectations 100% ? (like this could ever be possible! LOL !)

The notch looks like an unfinished job... Apple wouldn't have to take that much screen real estate just to fit in a better camera. I’m very positive face ID will be a 2022 MBP’s feature.

It will take quite some time before native ARM software is the norm. Add to the fact that much existing software hasn't been updated yet to the new Apple Arm architecture, so, unless you really need to replace a failing computer, I think waiting for the 2022 MBP makes a lot of sense!

Of course, future iterations of the M1 Pro or M1 Max chips will always be better than the last ones, but after Apple showed up with a radically new product (Chip architecture, new screen tech, more ports, mag safe,...), can we realistically expect more than a few tweaks for the 2022 MBP iteration?

Im hoping the 22 model makes a sandwich. So picture this. Instead of one of the Function keys it has a sandwich. Then you preprogram that button and if your working hard and forget to eat you press that button and a sandwich shows up in your kitchen.

I'm on an i9 16" MBP with 64GB RAM... I'll actually wait one MORE year for the M3 MBP in 2023/2024 :D

With, by then, hopefully a full 4k display and HDMI 2.1 to support 8k@60Hz.

Other than that the current MBPs are pretty great. I'm just not in the market.
