Hello!
I'm trying to set up the wake for network access functionality on my mac but having some problems. I'd like to be able to access files or my plex library remotely without leaving my mac awake all the time.
I've selected "wake for network access" in my energy saving preferences, but think I'm running into problems with the port forwarding.
In my router preferences settings, I've set up the port forwarding as such:
External port start\end: 9
Protocol: UDP
Internal port start\end: 9
Server IP address: 192.168.1.111 - this is the static IP of the computer I want to wake. The location of my router is 192.168.1.1. I read somewhere else that I need to change the server IP address to 192.168.1.255 but, when I do, I get the message that it's an invalid server address.
Any ideas out there?
