Wake on Demand and BTMM

Alu iMac - wake for network access (WAN/LAN) activated
AEBS - 7.4.2 installed

MBP - also running SL.

If I do not put the iMac to sleep, I can BTMM from my MBP flawlessly. But when the iMac goes to sleep, no where to find it from the MBP for BTMM.

Could you guys provide a check list of things I can look for so that I can allow the iMac to sleep while providing the BTMM functionality via wake for network access?

I have Little Snitch installed, I'm wondering if it doesn't have a part to play in this.
